jESC 2015: Macedonia – Ivana Petkovska and Magdalena Aleksovska – Pletenka

It’s the continuation of my opinion regarding the 17 competing entries from the 17 participating countries of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2015, which will be held in Sofia, Bulgaria (officially, though, the host will be Bulgaria as a whole. Sofia is only the location of the venue)

The second and last returning country of this edition is Macedonia – and they are going uptempo with a song about… braids: the title is, therefore, “Pletenka” (translation: “Braid”) and the performers for this track – in macedonian – are Ivana Petkovska (who did the lyrics) and Magdalena Aleksovska (who wrote the music). A more extensive biography of the participant can be seen on this link:

Now to the opinion of the song: Cute catchy entry with a funny theme on its lyrics – the arrangements could have been much better, though, and that’s a bit of a problem. Plus, I’m worried that this won’t have the performance that could get them a good placing in the results (even in studio, their vocals don’t sound as harmonious as they should be). Let’s see what will happen next week…

Next up is last year’s host country, Malta. Stay tuned for the entry’s opinion…

Thank you,
