jESC 2015: Belarus – Ruslan Aslanov – Volshebstvo (Magic)

It’s the continuation of my opinion regarding the 17 competing entries from the 17 participating countries of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2015, which will be held in Sofia, Bulgaria (officially, though, the host will be Bulgaria as a whole. Sofia is only the location of the venue)

One of the only two countries that has participated in every single edition of jESC since it begun back in 2003 is going to have an opinion from me right now: Belarus. This year, they have chosen a strong classy ballad about restoring one’s faith by magic named “Volshebstvo (Magic)” and Ruslan Aslanov is going to be the one that’ll perform it in belarussian and english – he also co-wrote its lyrics. The music, however, has been made by Ruslan Kvinta who had also written Ukraine‘s entry in ESC 2011 (“Angel”, Mika Newton). A more extensive biography of the participant can be seen on this link:

Now to the opinion of the song: The song really justifies its title and its dream-like atmosphere – it’s such a wonderfully crafted fairytale brought to life, building and building until it reaches the final climax. I think this has, like Armenia, good ingridents to do well in this year’s edition – let’s see if that’ll come true or not…

Next up is the host country, Bulgaria. Don’t miss it pretty soon…

Thank you,
