jESC 2015: Australia – Bella Paige – My girls

It’s the continuation of my opinion regarding the 17 competing entries from the 17 participating countries of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2015, which will be held in Sofia, Bulgaria (officially, though, the host will be Bulgaria as a whole. Sofia is only the location of the venue)

The next country in line is the first of two debuting countries this year: Australia (despite being a associate member of EBU, they were granted special permission to participate in this year’s jESC). And the entry (fully sung, of course, in english) that’ll give them their first big scoop in the contest is a girl empowering mid-tempo entry titled “My girls”, sung by Bella Paige (who was a finalist in the 1st season of “The Voice Kids: Australia”). Among the songwriters of the entry, there’s famous australian singer Delta Goodrem. A more extensive biography of the participant can be seen on this link:

Now to the opinion of the song: Powerful contemporary entry with some highly professional arrangements and a set of beautiful lyrics that puts the entry’s empowering feeling as the centre of the attention. No doubt she’s a good singer, but I wonder if this will do pretty well in Sofia – let’s see if it can gather a great deal of support from either the jury or the televoting. Or even both…

The next country up for a opinion of my own is Belarus, one of only two countries that have participated in every single edition in jESC since it begun in 2003. Don’t miss it pretty soon…
