jESC 2012: 11 Moldova – Demis Midone – Toate vor fi

It’s the continuation of my opinion regarding the 12 competing entries from the 12 participating countries of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2012, which will be held in Amsterdam

The next country has been participating in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest since 2010 and hasn’t won yet: Moldova

For this edition, Moldova has sent a retro-rock entry called “Toate vor fi” (translated as “It will be fine”), sung by Denis Midone. The author was Radmila Paraschiv, while the composer of the entry was Marian Stircea. More about the singwe can be found on this page:

Now to the opinion of the song: the song is not bad, but it lacks something special to stand out. The lyrics about wishing that the main subject’s dreams come true are good, but it misses some punch musically… in my opinion. How will this do well? I wonder… (and knowing that they, to my suprise, did well on their first two participations, although I didn’t think they had great songs back in 2010 and 2011)

The last country on discussion will be the host country, The Netherlands, a country who has been participating in jESC since the begining in 2003 and who has finally won in 2009 with the entry “Click clack”, sung by Ralf Mackenbach (by the way, he will also be in jESC 2012 as an interval act singing, among a new song, his winning entry in a new version). Watch out for the conclusion…

Thank you,
