jESC 2012: 05 Russia – Lerika – Senstation (Sensatsiya)

Hi,

It’s the continuation of my opinion regarding the 12 competing entries from the 12 participating countries of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2012, which will be held in Amsterdam

The next country is considered another of the favourites to win the 2012 edition of jESC (perhaps the biggest one. But one never knows, since another country could win jESC 2012): Russia

Russia sent a dance-pop track called “Sensation (Sensatsiya)”, made and sung by Lerika (who is no strange to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest world as she represented Moldova in 2011 with the less catchy “No, no”, finishing in a respectable 6th place against all odds). More about the singer can be found on this page: http://www.junioreurovision.tv/page/participant-profile?song=28163

Now to the opinion of the song: thus far, it’s my #1 of this edition of Junior Eurovision Song Contest (and, once again, I’m in a case of double tie for favouritism, because I also like another entry). A loving relationship that has turned into a inspirating song is the center of the lyrics, while the song musically sounds like something that could be a friendly radio-pop song if promoted to a international level. Nothing wrong with that, though, as it works out brillantly on several levels. Knowing how she performed last year and how she performed in the Russian Junior NF 2012, I think she won’t have much problems vocally and it also has potential to be visually powerful (unless something terribly wrong happens)

Next stop will be Israel, the second of the three countries debuting in the jESC 2012 edition. Watch out for it…

Thank you,
